Yoga

Less is more: this pretty much sums up my outlook on life. As even I sometimes can’t see the wood for the (yoga) trees, I have consciously chosen to limit the offering of E motion to the basics.

For me yoga is a subtle form of movement that, in today’s stressful environment, allows me to rediscover myself and connect with my body. During classes I tap into the needs of the modern Western person in our society that operates 24/7. This yoga is taught from a modern perspective with the aim of gently combining body and spirit. The effect: more rest, harmony, insight and clarity in daily activities.

At E motion two forms of yoga are on offer:

Peeryasa

Peeryasa, a dynamic form of yoga, inspired by the yoga form Ashtanga Vinyasa. We work on strength, flexibility and endurance. Breathing also plays an important role.

Relaxiflex yoga

Relaxiflex-yoga, a relaxed meditative form with its roots in yin-yoga. In the lessons, among other things, muscles and connective tissue are strengthened and relaxed. Connection with the body and your feelings are central in the relaxiflex classes.

My style of teaching is eclectic. Both the Peeryasa and Relaxiflex classes are based on my knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I am also inspired by my therapeutic background. This, in combination with my years of experience as a professional dance and yoga teacher, results in classes that are different every week. You will experience a different flow in every class and different forms of movement will be discussed.

Yoga for everybody

For all those men who think that yoga is only for women, this is simply not true! Men are also warmly welcomed in the studio of E motion for a challenging, healthy dose of physical activity and relaxation.

Pilates based flow

Strengthen your core and body awareness in an effective way? Then you're in the right place at the Pilates based flow classes!

My training is in the classical Pilates method and I combine this knowledge with my own unique style of teaching. In my classes repetition (strength) and creativity (flexibility) are combined.

Exercises

The exercises on the mat are different every time and always aimed at moving as effectively as possible. With Pilates based flow you train not only the body, but also your mind. A set of powerful exercises also stimulates willpower, decisiveness and focus.

The Pilates based flow lessons are accessible to everyone and there is always room for individual tuning.

Contemporary dance

The dance classes of E motion are all about feeling. For me, dancing is not about executing perfect steps. My heart lights up when I witness dancers experiencing individuality and joy in their dance.

Vigorous floor work

Moving organically, a strong core, coordination, focus, speed, slowing down, shifting, gliding, jumping, turning, going high and low, grounding and flow: all this comes together in the dance classes. Expect a lot of vigorous floor work. Additionally there is also space for gentleness, exploring resistance, letting go and creativity. My starting point is the qualities of the dancers and the dance pupils; together we let the dance do the talking.
